Yet another B5 caught lake record!
Posted in Catch Reports on 03rd November 2012Matt Davies has caught an enviable amount of big fish from home and abroad in recent years and his latest conquest is this huge 66lb 4oz lake record mirror from Lac de Desmont in France. Matt used our ever consistent Shellfish B5 boilies to bank no less than 28 carp during his visit, which included twelve 30's, a 42lb mirror, a 48lb common (pictured below left) and a 55lb mirror (pictured below middle). You can always rely on the B5 to come up trumps in every corner of the globe and on any venue.
Matt then returned to the UK and decided to put the B5 to the test yet again by fishing a bed of free offerings in no less than 47ft to see if it would pull the carp down to his baited spot!!! It wasn't long before this lovely 33lb 2oz mirror (bottom right) was gracing his net. Further proof that the B5 is simply irresistible!!
The journey continues
Mike Willmott wrote his first book, Carp Life, way back in 2002 and it received high praise from all quarters with many angler's proclaiming it to be the finest carp book ever written. The demand was enormous and just two years later, all copies had completely sold out. Due to demand, the book was finally re-printed in 2006, but now, more than a decade later and after five years of putting it all together, the long-awaited follow up to this extraordinary publication has arrived!
This 464-page publication is far bigger again than Carp Life 1, and includes hundreds of different images, line drawings and sketches that have never been published before. Mike very rarely writes in the magazines these days, but all of this unseen material has now come to fore in this new eagerly awaited book that is about to take the carp world by storm.
