Catch Reports
Consistent success
Posted in Catch Reports on 17th August 2010Eddie Johnson from North Wales has been making his 550-mile round trips to the Essex Manor worthwhile with a consistent amount of big fish. Some of you might remember that long distance carper Eddie banked the Fat Lady last year at 55lb 3oz so he’s no stranger to big carp.
Eddie’s recent trips have yielded some cracking carp, including specimens of 38lb 3oz, 37lb 2oz, 33lb 6oz, 29lb and 24lb. As with the fat Lady, he’s recent run of big fish have once again fallen to the ever consistent Shellfish B5. We really can’t give this guy enough credit for the amount of effort he puts into his fishing when you consider the amount of miles he clocks up. A top bloke and a top angler who deserves all the success he gets. Well done Eddie, top B5 bombing – again!!
Making your own

The amount of anglers making their own boilies these days are becoming less and less. This is understandable considering time limitations, but for those wishing to venture out into making their own boilies, these Handy Packs definitely are the way forward because everything you need (apart from eggs!) is inside the bucket.
Making your own bait allows you to use your own 'bespoke' combination of attractors to suit your individual needs. You can also make different shapes and sizes, as well as having the option over soft, medium or hard baits, depending on boiling times, or if you wish to include additional hardeners. Further to this, many anglers find it extremely rewarding to catch fish on a bait they have made themselves.
