Ricky has no Fear!
Posted in Catch Reports on 07th May 2012Somerset angler Ricky 'Fear' Thomas has once again shown how to combine good angling skills with what many believe to be the very best carp bait ever produced by smashing his syndicate water to pieces and catching the most carp ever caught during a single 24-hour session!
Rick used the ever consistent B5 boilies to bank no less than 23 carp during the hectic 24-hour stint! Fourteen of these were over 20lbs up to 29lb 13oz with the biggest of the session weighing in at 32lb 5oz! Now that's what we call a dream session for any young angler - well done Rick...
Footnote:- In just three 24-hour sessions using the incredible B5, Rick has now landed 20 doubles, over 20 different 20's and four 30's!
Making your own
The amount of anglers making their own boilies these days are becoming less and less. This is understandable considering time limitations, but for those wishing to venture out into making their own boilies, these Handy Packs definitely are the way forward because everything you need (apart from eggs!) is inside the bucket.
Making your own bait allows you to use your own 'bespoke' combination of attractors to suit your individual needs. You can also make different shapes and sizes, as well as having the option over soft, medium or hard baits, depending on boiling times, or if you wish to include additional hardeners. Further to this, many anglers find it extremely rewarding to catch fish on a bait they have made themselves.
