Confused Common!

Posted in Catch Reports on 04th November 2012

Lee Carpenter is one of those consistent anglers who always seems to get amongst the big fish on a very regular basis. Another interesting fact is that most of Lee's success comes to thinking ouitside the box and presenting the carp with something a little different.

Lee has found out that by applying the two most successful food baits ever made (namely the B5 and Black Snail) side by side, it seems to create a degree of confusion and judging by the fish he has caught since doing this, it certainly provides a little 'food for thought'!

His most recent target was this immense looking common that succumbed to the above 'bait confusion' tactic and weighed in at an impressive 42lb 10oz! Nice one Lee and a belter of a fish.

Making your own

The amount of anglers making their own boilies these days are becoming less and less. This is understandable considering time limitations, but for those wishing to venture out into making their own boilies, these Handy Packs definitely are the way forward because everything you need (apart from eggs!) is inside the bucket.

Making your own bait allows you to use your own 'bespoke' combination of attractors to suit your individual needs. You can also make different shapes and sizes, as well as having the option over soft, medium or hard baits, depending on boiling times, or if you wish to include additional hardeners. Further to this, many anglers find it extremely rewarding to catch fish on a bait they have made themselves.
